International training in Wilkhahn

We visited German Wilkhahn and found out how are produced the best chairs in the world in a town near Hanover with tradition of production of chairs lasting few centuries.

Unlike virtually any other manufacturer in the office furniture industry, Wilkhahn stands worldwide for design made in Germany. It offers high-quality office and dynamic conference furniture which are benchmarks for the entire industry. Some 60 years ago, the company made better utility value, long-lasting design and durability its goals. Milestones like classic office chair FS-Line (1980), Confair folding conference table (1994), office chair Modus (1994) or skid-base chair Aline (2004) have shaped the way offices have evolved. The latest examples of pioneering innovations are the multi-purpose chair Chassis, the conference range Graph, or three-dimensional ON and IN which leading experts currently consider the world’s best office chairs.

 Wilkhahn also sets new standards in terms of its socio-ecological approach. As winner of the German Environmental Prize, the company has worked with architects Frei Otto and Thomas Herzog and has actively been practising environmental responsibility for over 20 years. In addition to a number of international accolades, office chair ON has also received the Federal Ecodesign Award.

Training in the Wilkhahn

 

By working with Wilkhahn and the requirement to bring to Slovakia the highest quality furniture we had international training at the headquarters Wilkhahnu, in the town of Bad Munder am Deister, which is located in the vicinity of Hanover, which is known for its production of chairs.
In the small town of Bad Munder am Deister it was located in the past 20 companies that manufactured chairs and sell them all over Western Europe. It is precisely because this part of Germany was densely forested and create opportunities for mining and wood processing. Today  in the city has been producing only Wilkhahn.
On the training met participants from Western and Central Europe and the whole training included several kinds of presentations from various fields - marketing, PR communication, philosophy Office for motion (philosophy of designing their office furniture), sale, operation and production at the plant.
Extremely enriching part of the training was completed with a great program after the official part and a great atmosphere created by all involved.
